This summer has flown by quickly but I managed to carve out some family time on the road. My exciting family getaway to Nashville, TN was in the nick of time. If you’re like me then you’ve experienced the burnout from everyday life. Although, my trip was only for a weekend the memories will last a lifetime.
Fun Times Ahead In Nashville
We headed out at 10:00 am on July 23rd, 2021. The three of us: myself, my husband, and youngest daughter were ready for fun times ahead in Nashville. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for our trip. The weather was hot with clear skies. Surprisingly, we only made one pit stop during the almost 5 hour drive.
Hello Nashville!
Hello Nashville! We finally arrived in Nashville, TN that evening a little after four. I chose the LaQuinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Nashville Downtown Stadium for our stay. The location of this hotel was 5 minutes from downtown so it’s perfect for a family who may not want to be in the center of the nightlife energy downtown. We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. It was a convenient location, quiet, and our family felt safe. The staff displayed the utmost southern hospitality. My only small complaint were the beds. I’m accustomed t o memory foam mattress and theirs was a bit firmer.
Polka-Dot and Purple Plaid Fun In Nashville
What do you wear to Nashville? I really wanted to rock out in some cowgirl hat/boots and daisy dukes. However, I didn’t because my husband and daughter would have left me at home. Instead, I opted for two comfy chic jumpsuits. It was a scorcher that weekend in Nashville but I managed to stay cool!
Downtown Nashville did not disappoint! We ate at Martin’s BBQ, Sun Diner, and The Stillery. Nashvillians were so welcoming and the energy downtown was indescribable. My daughter was adamant about going to the Opry Mills Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. I was like a kid in a candy store. One mistake I made was handing my phone to my husband to record my performance with Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder. Can you guess what happened? He’s not tech savvy so I didn’t get my dang on performance on film…nada! Don’t worry I managed to get some pics. The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge was awesome! Last but not least, the Home of the Tennessee Titans Nissan Stadium was located across from the hotel!
Overall, it was the best time ever and a much needed getaway with my family. I absolutely can’t wait to go back. One full day is surely not enough time to explore all the historical locations in Nashville and the delicious food, I might add. Next time for sure, this cowgirl will ride off into the sunset with my Stetson and my boots! Until next time, take care of you.
